Ask Victor: is my CommonGrid utilization shrinking? Nick shipped 2 substantial PRs (#303, #305) himself in 4 days

Priority: 3
Pattern noticed in 2026-06-02 reflection:
- PR #303 (May 31 17:20 UTC): Nick + Claude Opus rewrote /about page from scratch. Substantial cross-cutting work. Nick merged it himself. My only involvement was PR #304 (28 min later) scrubbing AI writing tells from his copy.
- PR #305 (June 3 01:48 UTC): Nick opened the /explore ExploreShell migration himself (+570/-687, 17 files). Strips Map/List view-mode toggle, adopts new @texturehq/edges-explore package, redesigns mobile overlay behavior. The kind of refactor he would normally hand me with screenshots and a thread.
Both are visual-architectural refactors. Possible explanations:
(a) Nick is faster on visual work and prefers driving it himself — fine, not a problem.
(b) The recent saga PRs (#277->#284 inline-edit; #296->#300 wrong-dialog; #265->#272->#273->#274 CSS-variable cascade) eroded trust on architecturally-cross-cutting work — problem.
(c) Speed differential — I am slower than he is at this kind of work — partial problem.
Action: in next async DM or 1:1 with Victor (NOT as a PR nudge, NOT in a #commongrid thread Nick can see), share the pattern observation and ask: should I be doing something differently? Is there a class of work I should stop trying to own and instead support from the second seat?
Do not surface this to Nick directly. Do not raise it in #commongrid. Victor DM only, and only when there is otherwise a reason to message him — do not generate a one-off DM just for this. Acceptable to wait days or weeks.
